Purpose and Scope of Position:
The Cell Therapy Supply Chain (CT SC) Business Process Lead (BPL) for Procurement sits at the intersection of people, process, and systems and reports to the global Business Process Owner (BPO) for CT Procurement, Warehouse, and Logistics.
This role is part of the Supply Chain Capabilities team and plays a key part in our rapidly evolving business.
The Procurement BPL is positioned alongside peer BPLs and BPOs in the end-to-end patient treatment process.
This end-to-end process includes network planning and allocation, patient scheduling, manufacturing site scheduling, quality assessment and release, raw material planning and procurement, warehousing, logistics, order management, master data governance, and manufacturing.
BPLs work with an expanding network of global and site stakeholders to drive decision-making for major programs and initiatives, deliver a road map for continuous improvement, and foster cross-site collaboration.
They lead cross-functional teams of local process owners and subject-matter experts to identify challenges and opportunities and work closely with an established network of planner/buyers and site procurement teams.
They also collaborate with our portfolio management team to drive the prioritization and mobilization of resources necessary to deliver change, which is a mix of near-term solutions to satisfy immediate needs, and multi-year plans to attain strategic targets.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape how BMS s CT procurement network operates and to influence the future of the CT SC network.
Job ResponsibilitiesLead all business process-related activities involving global and site procurement for CT.
This includes working cross functionally, collecting and socializing ideas, identifying and overcoming obstacles, building business cases and process models, and executing plans to implement solutions.
This includes partnering with leaders in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, IT and other functions to ensure compliant and scalable processes.
Develop the strategy and business process road map for the CT procurement, including prioritization of requirements for CT systems.
Final decision-maker on design.
Lead, develop and implement policies and procedures based on current regulations and industry standards to ensure readiness for product and pipeline milestones.
Work with senior leaders to help establish performance goals and strategic/operational objectives for the CT organization.
Coach and mentor a cross-functional community of professionals.
Qualifications and Education RequirementsBachelor's degree in a life sciences, business, engineering or related discipline.
8 years of relevant biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably in supply chain or manufacturing areas.
Experience leading cross-functional matrix teams and facilitating process improvement sessions.
LEAN / 6-sigma and APICS certification a plus.
Significant depth in procurement.
Strong SAP-S/4 skills a plus (experience as superuser a plus).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Skilled at presenting complex topics to senior leaders.
Proven record leading or contributing to projects or programs in support of GxP operations.
Extensive knowledge of current industry practices.
Experience with interpretation and application of guidelines and regulationsProven ability to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment while maintaining a positive work attitude.
The starting compensation for this job is a range from $141,000 - $178,000, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.
Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
