POSITION
Summary:
Reports to the Senior Director, Corporate Affairs, Worldwide Cell Therapy Communications.
The Director, Corporate Affairs, Worldwide Cell Therapy Communications is responsible for developing and executing a communications platform that creates a strong, differentiated leadership presence worldwide for Bristol Myers Squibb in Cell Therapy.
This role involves close collaboration with Commercial business partners, U.
S.
and other affiliate Cell Therapy communications and the Content & Channels team.
This role has point responsibility for Breyanzi and Abecma as well as important new assets in development.
The role is responsible for developing integrated internal and external communications plans and content.
S/he is responsible for helping to shape and drive brand messaging and initiatives that support broader corporate messages and educate/engage employees.
This role also works closely with Investor Relations and worldwide/U.
S.
Advocacy to support their efforts to create leadership for BMS in Cell Therapy.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement communications strategy, narrative and execution across the Cell Therapy area for internal and external audiences, to establish BMS as a worldwide leader in Cell Therapy.
Develop and deliver editorial strategy and content to support BMS Commercial Cell Therapy brand positioning; includes social media strategy.
Coordinate with Commercial, Corporate Communications, GPS/CTDO, Investor Relations and other internal stakeholders on regulatory developments, product launches, congresses (namely ASCO/EHA and ASH) and data milestones, and other global milestones The Worldwide Cell Therapy lead is responsible for all first approvals (U.
S.
FDA, European Commission) Create and execute an integrated internal communications plan for each milestone that engages and educates BMS employees Develop meaningful worldwide deliverables that affiliates can easily adapt and localize to support data and regulatory milestones and other key initiatives; serve as the single point of contact for Cell Therapy for affiliate communicators.
Build relationships with key worldwide stakeholders, including media, advocacy groups, trade associations and policy makers, to garner positive coverage of BMS, support the company's reputation and thought leadership activities, and drive major external communications initiatives.
Support key executives in thought leadership initiatives designed to elevate the company's reputation in Cell Therapy; find and support opportunities outside of milestones to tell the BMS Cell Therapy story.
Work closely with GPS/CTDO communications leads to proactively tell the Cell Therapy manufacturing story, both externally for reputation and internally for morale and motivation.
Support BMS HR with strategic communications around the Cell Therapy talent strategy, designed to attract, develop and retain much-needed CT talent.
In coordination with the Corporate Communications team, oversee issues management, providing guidance on related reputational issues as needed to mitigate risk and ensure aligned messaging.
Ongoing:
Cell Therapy manufacturing/supply and demand issues with both brands Design and implement measurement practices to actively manage, optimize and communicate performance against objectives.
Oversee budget and contract management for brand communications and external agency resources.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated leader with a track record of setting, driving and delivering against integrated communications strategies.
S/he will have expertise in strategic planning, issues management, internal and external communications, including executive communications.
S/he must be able to collaborate with business leaders and teams to develop integrated communications strategies and have demonstrated ability to successfully lead and influence others.
Finally, this individual will have a strong grasp of storytelling that can engage and energize employees and support the company's business objectives.
Bachelor's degree required, ideally in Communications or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Accomplished communications professional with a minimum of 7-10 years' experience in brand or corporate communications, public relations agency or related field.
Healthcare experience and solid understanding of the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry required.
Proven experience driving communications strategy in coordination with business partners in support of enterprise priorities.
Experience working with media.
Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively within the department and across the business to drive and scale communications strategies across the enterprise.
Superior written and interpersonal communications skills.
Powerpoint proficiency and strong presentation and facilitation skills; ability to engage with and persuade a wide variety of audiences.
